12th & Midtown Project A Success

Innovative Roofing Group installed 60,000 square feet of EIP membrane roofing (Fibertite, using Dupont's Elvaloy KEE) for the Loews Hotel and retail shops, part of the prominent 12th & Midtown development. There were several special considerations on this project.

Being in a partially residential area, there were restrictions on the hours in which the crew could work, in order to avoid disturbing those living in the area. The high-rise structure required IRG to hoist materials using a tower crane. Additionally, the visibility of the roof by the other office towers and condominium residents was a unique situation and affected the choice of membrane that was used, in addition to the metal coping choice for the wall perimeters.

Receiving excellent reviews from the inspectors, Innovative Roofing Group had the rare distinction of a punch list with no items (corrections that usually need to be made upon the completion of any project).  Everything was completed according to exact specifications, and Brasfield & Gorrie commented that it was the first time the inspectors had been on a job with only positive things to say regarding the roofing.

The Loews Hotel opened on April 1, and other businesses on-site include the restaurant Eleven, Bar Eleven, and Exhale Spa and Fitness Center.
